I think the SPOT App is lost with a mobile strategy that’s on the road to nowhere!
If I’m the end-user with a SPOT device out in the field, I am not needing the mobile app to show me MY location. Much of the time, I’m out of range for cell service anyway… so what’s the point??
What I do want, is for my wife/family/friends to use this mobile app to see where I am while on my adventures. In other words, let me invite them to track me on all my trips or generate a code that offers visibility to only select trips!
This app should also pop up a notification on the follower’s phone whenever I check-in from the SPOT device – that would be cool.
Now, it’s been suggested that I just direct my followers to the FindMe tracking page, but seriously… have you tried using that interface on your little screen?? That user experience is even worse!
So please, reevaluate your roadmap and find your way to a more useful, cross-functional mobile app.
