Since then, I’ve changed how I handle hydration—adding what’s needed to actually replace what gets lost through sweat. I’ve also come to know that hydration is an important component to avoiding altitude sickness at higher elevations. So what if your incorrect consumption of water is actually causing the symptoms you are trying to avoid: headache, nausea, and brain swelling?!
