Chipping away at my list of remaining peaks to complete the Wasatch 11ers, I finally got that Bast*rd Son of the American Fork Twins (aka The Third Nipple, aka The Peak East of East AF Twin). I didn`t realize this bump was something worth getting when I initially did the AF Twins with Geek Peak and Red Top back in 2018. It has loomed over my head ever since... but now IT`S DONE, with only 8 of these 35 left to do.
Did Nebo with my brother-in-law. It was his first time, but my fourth. Of course we hit North Nebo first! ...and then looked for an alternate way down to the Bench Trail on the way back. I think I see a possibility without having to do the whole traverse. I`d like to give it a try when we have more time.
Strike 1 at Leatherman Peak! I started too late, lost the trail, underestimated the time it would take and was hiking alone in a less popular area. Guess it`ll have to wait for another day.

During the Denali Prep Course I attended in Alaska last month, I met a guy from Boston (@joemarcello18) who had just done this podcast with a guy I hike with from Salt Lake (@tayy__tayy22). Talk about crazy connections!

Super fun ridge hike that I`m calling the "Silver Lake Scramble". It goes from Silver Lake up to White Baldy, then over to Silver Lake Peak and down along Deer Creek/Dry Creek from Community Flat. We wanted to hit Box Elder too but ran out of time...

You can get pretty creative with how you carve out your living areas on the Kahiltna Glacier. We had a urinal in our bathroom, a refrigerator in our tent’s rear vestibule and seats in our kitchen. I felt like a kid again building forts and playing in the snow.
The instructors for our Denali Prep course were awesome! Greg Runyan has an incredible amount of experience from 30 years of climbing throughout this Range, touching the top of Alaska 6 times with @alaskamountaineeringschool since 2005. @david_kerner is also well versed at tackling Denali with 4 successful summits of his own since 2019. Both offered many pro tips and tricks from their respective depths of knowledge.
