The next segment of my Summer Series of State Highpoints starts with a quick visit to Campbell Hill.

I had hoped to drive out to California for a mountaineering adventure on Mt. Shasta in July after my second successful summit of Mt. Whitney, but missed that window due to deteriorating snow conditions.
So Plan B became a flight out east to pick up Ohio, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.
Campbell Hill
After visiting more challenging highpoints across the western United States, Campbell Hill offered a very different “summit” experience. Standing at 1,549 feet near Bellefontaine, Ohio, the state’s highest point is reached with only a short walk from the parking area.

There was no trailhead, no route-finding, and no elevation gain to speak of. In fact, this hill sits on the grounds of the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, making this one of the easiest state highpoints to visit.

This was highpoint #15/50 for me and 5/35 for my wife.
Next stop
We continued on to New York, where my brother-in-law would join me for the rest of this set of state highpoints, but not before making a slight detour near Buffalo to see Niagara Falls.
